2009 ANZ CHAMPIONSHIP MEDIA AWARD WINNERS NAMED

The ANZ Championship is proud to announce the winners of the competition`s 2009 Media Awards.

 

In 2009, the ANZ Championship decided to acknowledge the media’s support of the competition by presenting awards aimed at recognising and rewarding the New Zealand and Australian media.

 

“The media are an integral part of the exposure we receive around the ANZ Championship and I congratulate the media on their achievements,” Anthony Everard, General Manager, ANZ Championship said.

 

“All the entries we received were of the highest quality and reflect the media’s commitment and support of the competition.“

 

A total of 58 entries across the five categories were received and the winners determined by two independent judges.

 

The 2009 ANZ Championship media award winners are:

 

Best Print Story
Winner: Dana Johannsen, New Zealand Herald
Title:  Head-to-head for two

 

Best Online / Electronic Story
Winner: Penny Miles, stuff.co.nz
Title:  Netball’s Salary Cap 

 

Best Television News or Feature Story
Winner: Julie Ash, TVNZ News
Title:  Althea Byfield and The Pulse Win

 

Best Radio Interview or Feature
Winner: Peter Walsh, ABC Radio
Title:  Grand Final preview

 

Best Photograph

Winner: Mark Taylor, Waikato Times
